Privacy Policy

What information the Site collects, why it is collected, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Overview

Corporate Finance Fundamentals is designed as a lightweight, fast educational site. We deliberately minimise data collection: the learning guides, articles, calculators, and visual tools run directly in your browser, and the numbers you type into calculators are processed on your device — they are not transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

This policy explains the limited information that is collected when you use the Site, the legal bases and purposes for that collection, and the rights you have over it. By using the Site you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information we do not collect

To keep the learning experience private, the following never leave your browser:

  • Calculator inputs and results (loan amounts, cash flows, growth rates, ratios, and similar figures).
  • Visual tool settings and slider positions.
  • Reading position, scrolls, and clicks within guides and articles.

3. Information we may collect automatically

Like most websites, our infrastructure may record standard technical logs for security and performance: IP address, browser type and version, device category, referring page, pages visited, and timestamps. This information is used to keep the Site available, to diagnose faults, to prevent abuse, and to understand aggregate usage patterns that guide improvements.

  • Purpose limitation: technical logs are used for security, reliability, and aggregate analytics only.
  • Retention: server logs are retained for a limited period consistent with operational needs, then deleted or anonymised.
  • No profiling: we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell personal data.

4. Information you provide voluntarily

If you contact us by email or through a feedback form, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your name, email address, and message. We use it solely to respond to your enquiry, to correct reported errors, and to improve the Site. We do not add correspondents to marketing lists without explicit consent, and we do not share contact details with third parties for their own purposes.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries strictly to make the experience work: remembering your preferred calculator tab, your theme preference if any, and similar functional settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. Details of each category and how to control them are in our Cookie Policy, which forms part of this policy.

6. Analytics and aggregated statistics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand which topics and tools are most useful — for example, counts of page views and average session duration — with individual visitors never identified. Where third-party analytics are used, they are configured to anonymise IP addresses and to avoid cross-site tracking, and their own privacy terms govern their processing.

7. Data security

We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures — encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and minimal retention — to protect any information that reaches us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we review our practices regularly and treat reported vulnerabilities with high priority.

8. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience of students, analysts, and lifelong learners, and is not directed at children under the age at which local law requires parental consent for data processing (commonly 13 to 16 depending on jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights over personal data we hold about you — typically the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us with enough detail to identify the request. We respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

  • Access and portability: ask what we hold and receive a copy in a machine-readable format.
  • Rectification and erasure: ask us to correct or delete information you have provided.
  • Objection and restriction: object to specific processing or ask us to pause it while a dispute is reviewed.
  • Complaint: you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. Changes and contact

We update this policy when our practices or the law change; the updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the email shown in the Site footer or at support@corporatefinancefundamentals.example.
