Cookie Policy

The small files the Site stores in your browser, what each one does, and how to control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the site to remember a setting between visits — for example, the last calculator you opened — or to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Similar technologies such as local storage and session storage perform comparable jobs and are covered by this policy.

Cookies are not programs, cannot read your files, and cannot transmit anything by themselves. Their only power is to store a short string of text that your browser sends back to the site on later requests.

2. Cookies this Site uses

Corporate Finance Fundamentals keeps its cookie footprint deliberately minimal. The categories below cover everything the Site may store:

  • Strictly necessary: session identifiers and security tokens required for the Site to function at all. These cannot be switched off without breaking the experience.
  • Preferences (functional): your selected calculator tab, display preferences, and similar choices, stored so the Site opens the way you left it. These are optional but harmless, and clearing them simply resets defaults.
  • Analytics (aggregated): privacy-respecting, anonymised counters that tell us which guides and tools are most visited, so we know what to improve. No individual is identified and no advertising profile is built.

3. What we do not use

The Site does not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or social-media pixels. We do not participate in retargeting, and we do not allow data brokers to place their tags on our pages. If you see an advertisement referencing content you read here, it did not come from us.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

Every mainstream browser lets you review, block, and delete cookies. You can typically find the controls under Privacy or Site Data settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site from working; blocking preference cookies only means the Site will forget your settings between visits. You can also clear all stored data for this site at any time with no other consequence.

  • Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Mobile: browser app → menu → Settings → Site settings / Privacy.

5. Updates to this policy

If we ever add a new cookie category — for example, if the Site introduces accounts or optional personalisation that requires it — we will update this page and the updated date above before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated policy.
